The Dallas Cowboys continued their trend this offseason of adding players familiar to the locker room with a signing they made on Monday. The Cowboys have added only a couple of players in free agency from outside teams, like running back Royce Freeman and linebacker Eric Kendricks.
Earlier Monday morning, the Cowboys signed Ezekiel Elliott, who played with the New England Patriots in 2023, to their roster for the upcoming season. But Elliott was a star for the Cowboys before his release last summer, and he’s expected to resume his RB1 duties this season.
The Cowboys are bringing back a member from their 2023 team. According to Todd Archer with ESPN, the Cowboys are signing linebacker Damien Wilson. Wilson was on the Cowboys’ active roster for some of last season but did not play.
The Cowboys have agreed to terms with veteran LB Damien Wilson, who ended last year on the active roster but did not play in a game, per a source. More depth at the position.

The Cowboys drafted Wilson in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played with the Cowboys through the 2018 season before signing with the Chiefs. Wilson was a starter for the Chiefs during the 2019 and 2020 seasons. He won Super Bowl LIV as a member of the Chiefs.
Wilson spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers before rejoining the Cowboys last season. In his nine-year NFL career, he has 419 tackles, nine sacks, and one interception.
Here are some initial reactions from the Colts latest signing.
They realize FA started over a month ago, right?

I'm actually happy about this one. Wilson has shown himself to be at the very least a reliable special teamer and a high upside starting LB.
